Liked the fire and the supplied coal for 2 nights. The largest bedroom reached expectations.
The cottage advertises itself as suitable for six people though the three of us, all adults, found the conditions just adequate. 2 of the double beds were narrow, one had protruding springs and in a room with hardly any furniture. I kept hitting my leg on the side of the radiator as the space was so cramped. The seating in the lounge was limited.
The kitchen was very poorly equipped and supplied: owners only provided salt and pepper! It is difficult to drag every cupboard staple along for just a few days. A welcome pack of bread, butter, beverages, sauce sachets etc would have been appreciated on a Sunday, with no shops open anywhere near by. Only soap was provided in the bathroom, no extras.
The heating did not work when we first arrived. This was quickly rectified by the owner although I understand this is a recurring problem.
Considering the remote location and lack of facilities, you need to arrive fully supplied. A sign with the name of the cottage at the entrance to the lane would have been helpful, as we had trouble finding it. The road leading into it is a bit rough.
